S E L A H

The name "Selah" was given to this gallery in response to prayer and confirmed through three different events. The biblical word selah has often puzzled those who try to translate it. 

We at En Hakkore, deep in the Maniototo Valley of  Otago where this gallery resides, are NOT puzzled. God has given us a name wonderfully appropriate to our purposes. This gallery was established to:

  • Display the works of Christian artists whose work is motivated and inspired by God and His Creation.

  • Bring Christian believers to a place of knowing God more deeply through the offering of artistic, oral and written testimony.

  • Lovingly challenge those who do not know the One True God: barriers to faith can be broken, doubt can be overcome, truth can replace untruth.

In the context of this gallery, we believe S E L A H to mean:

Pause, consider, let your heart be touched by God, and prepare to know and praise Him afresh.

Not essential, but it is useful to know you’re coming. If the gallery is not manned, a number will be displayed to text: we’re usually only two minutes away.

You are entering PRIVATE property. Drive slowly on site, watch out for our kids, no smoking, no alcohol, no pets outside your vehicle. Please, respect our privacy: this is our home.
Warning: Infringers of site rules may find themselves prayed for.

EN HAKKORE SITE TOURS  
En Hakkore is a former TB Sanatorium and a youth prison.
Site tours may be possible.
Preferably pre-arrange: ring Margaret or Sarah.

N.B. Visitors are not free to wander En Hakkore unsupervised. This is a working farm with site-hazards including the use of large vehicles. Obey all instructions for your safety.
